“The first three books in The Caleb Cove Mystery Series were written in a domino effect. Not the best way to do a series. Feel free to ask questions about the books, or about the writing process. ”

That's one to make me think. I'm not sure there are any direct mysteries in my life. However, having said that, I am currently in Scotland tracking down parts of my family tree. Finding out what various great aunts and uncles did and where they ended up (Canada, New Zealand and South Africa) might certainly lead me to a mystery. Time will tell. Thanks for stopping by and asking the question.

The ouple that popped into my head first is a TV couple - Bones and Booth. After thinking about book couples, I am realize I prefer lone protagonists. However, in the couple department, Charlotte and Thomas Pitt in Anne Perry's series are 'a duo most delightful.'

Inspiration comes in different forms. Associating with other writers and attending workshops usually fans the fire. I've always written so it's a natural happening. If I don't write, I get grumpy.

Having just finished and published the third book in my series, I am cogitating on book four. I have characters and setting and, I think, a crime. However, I'm not sure how it will all knit together.

The best thing...hmmmm I love using words to transport both myself and my readers to another place and time to meet new people and to see how they overcome difficulties. (Like murders.) In writing a book, you can shape the end anyway you find plausible. It gives a sense of control in a sometimes chaotic world.

If i have writer's block, I've learned it is because I've not sorted out the plot or the characters fully. I pose some questions and then go away and do some house work or knit a sweater! The answers pop up withing 48 hours usually and sometimes faster. Once I know where things are going, I can write quickly and easily.

Hi Jim - The first one is Came Home Dead. although they can be read as stand alone, the community is introduced in that one and appears again in Came Home to a Killing - #2 as well as in the third one, Came Home Too Late. So if anyone wants to read them in order, Came Home Dead is the first.
