Rose Betit Well, without giving away any details or spoilers, I'd have to say I really wanted the story to end in a poetic way that brought it around full circle and tied it up in a neat little bow. To be honest, I don't even recall the first time I thought of that scene. Oftentimes, it almost feels like scenes write themselves and I'm just some sort of conduit. That scene is from one of those me-being-a-conduit moments.
Rose Betit When I was about eight years old. The first thing I remember writing was a rhymey, rhymey poem about my dog. (Back when I used to think poetry had to rhyme. ;-) To this day, I remember it.
Rose Betit Honestly, the best answer to that is, I don't. I don't engage the feeling of not knowing what to write. If the words don't flow, I put it away, walk away, change my mindset, listen to music that inspires me. My muse always comes back eventually. The words begin flowing again at some point. Then, I hole up in a room behind a closed door and write like mad.
Rose Betit Aside from the launch and promotion of Sparrows, I've been laying ground work for a compilation of short stories and reworking one of my collections of poetry.
Rose Betit The initial idea was spawned by an event in my childhood.
