Melanie Mosher The characters I meet. Many of my characters come to me in my imagination, out of the blue. They are often inspired by people I have met or things I have seen. But when the character becomes fully formed they begin to tell me their story. That is the best part. I am not the creator of their story, just the one putting their words on the page.
Melanie Mosher For me, the best way to deal with writer's block is to read. When I get caught up in someone else's story and their characters, I find I then want to go back to my own writing.

Melanie Mosher I was very close to my Grampie John and my Grammie Lill. They were my inspiration for Fire Pie Trout. Grampie did call pizza fire pie because the spices gave him a "fire in his belly." I knew years ago that I would somehow included this memory in a story. The rest is fiction.
