This is interesting because I believe that in all fiction, there is some reality. I forget who it was that said everything we imagine or dream about, we have experienced in one way or another in our lives. So I guess to answer your question, fiction is really just a variation of our reality so one really shouldn't be harder than the other because they are one in the same.

Absolutely. Words are the most powerful weapon or tool we have. If you really think about it, every time someone has picked up a "sword", it was because of words. Taking the violence out of it, the written word has the power and the ability to take one into a whole new world and teach a wisdom that can not be found anywhere else.

Having the ability to escape into the worlds of your characters. Your characters can actually do things that you could only dream about doing. You can live vicariously through them. More importantly, you can know that other readers of your work can do the same thing.

Just keep writing. New ideas can't flow from you unless you put them on paper. Don't give up or be afraid of moving some of your characters to different book ideas. Sometimes your characters just need a change of scenery

I get inspired just through meeting the people around me in the world. Observation is a very powerful tool. You can quickly develop a whole world of characters just by observing those around you and letting a story grow from there.

I actually started Four Pieces For Power in High School as part of a project. I had visited some f the key locations in the book and made up a story around them. I have also been a big Italian History buff for a long time so the Vendicatori is a perfect fit.
