Write what you feel. Then write some more. If it's crap, it can be rewritten or shelved for a later date. And network with other authors, they are so supportive of each other. And never give up hope. Overnight success doesn't exist. Some writers write for years before they are 'discovered'. I'm still crossing my fingers searching for that agent and publishing deal!

Being able to write a story that YOU want to write. And also the writing community - from authors published and unpublished, and book bloggers, everyone is so lovely, friendly and supportive. Social media has a huge part to play in networking. I've 'met' so many fabulously inspiring people on Twitter.

Listening to music helps me, but the funny moments can arise from any situation. I'll be talking with friends, and something happens or someone says something, and I think 'that's fabulous I'm going to use that!' They usually get quite excited when I say that. Inspiration is all around us, we just have to be open to it.

Ah well... I rediscovered my rock 'n' roll roots after seeing a particular rockband, with whom I am totally obsessed. I am a born again teenaged groupie! And they were my muse... these stories just kept growing in my head, and I started writing them down, as a fanfic to start with, then I thought 'nope this is way too long for a fanfic'... and it kind of snowballed from there. Obviously names have been changed, but the characters are loosely based on a band, but there is a lot of poetic licence used...
