The book I am currently in the process of writing follows on from The Violent Stepfather series. The first three stories are based on my childhood, true stories of domestic and child abuse. The fourth story The Violent Father and Son is about the tragic event that occurred in my life when I was a young child, an event that tore my family apart.
However, I am currently writing The Violent Stepfather Returns which follows on from the original trilogy. The stepfather stumbles across a new innocent family to prey upon, a mother and two daughters. All seems relatively normal, until he slowly begins to wreak havoc on the two daughters, inflicting both pain and misery as his malevolent ways scratch their way to the surface. The mother blinded by love, is oblivious to what goes on when she turns her back and by the time she realises, it’s too late to undo the damage that’s been done.
I got the idea for this story when I sat back one evening and actually thought, “What would he have done next?” I was bombarded with ideas as they came at me from all directions, I had to scribble furiously on a piece of paper, paranoid I would forget my next big idea. That moment was when I decided that I would turn my ideas into this story and therefore, the opportunity to be a little more creative was born. The Violent Stepfather Returns allows my creative ideas to unfold, without feeling obligated to follow reality, as I had done so in the first four books. I have also decided to make this story much longer, all because I just couldn’t stop my fingers from typing, so hopefully, the readers will enjoy a much longer and just as exciting journey in The Violent Stepfather Returns which is due to be released in spring 2015.
