Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

how long did your memoir take to write?

Susan Joyce Thanks for your question! Michelle Monet! My first memoir took three years to write. My second took one year. I write and rewrite many times because I want it to be the best I can do. And I believe there is no hurry on the creative plane.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Susan Joyce I'd travel to the Pleiades star cluster and research life there. I'm convinced I lived a life there many moons ago.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Susan Joyce My ex-husband was a spy and I didn't have a clue for many years until the Cyprus War in 1974. Following the war I finally started putting pieces of my life puzzle together. I am now working on a screenplay about the discovery.

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Susan Joyce Harry Burns and Sally Albright. They're funny and realistic, and enjoy being together. Most of the time.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Susan Joyce My most recent book is my memoir and the idea came from my own bizarre, real life adventures while living in the Middle East and Europe during the 70s and 80s. My truth is stranger than fiction.

How do you get inspired to write?

Susan Joyce If I need inspiration, I stop, look, and listen to the world around me. A walk along the beach or around my neighborhood gets my writing gears moving again.

What are you currently working on?

Susan Joyce I'm working on a new book about moments in life when the mind snaps to a new realization. Moments when all of a sudden things look different than viewed before. A new level of awareness. Revelations!
