Hi Maureen! I apologize in the delay. That is so sweet! It takes quite a while to get the words down on paper, edit them, organize everything and make it all come together. But...it's a fun and exciting process no matter how grueling. The best part is seeing it all fit into a book that one hopes others will enjoy reading. :) x

My next novel, the second book in the series. It, too, will be a Thriller with supernatural essence.

I read other Authors. I read a lot of books...in and outside of my genre. Other Authors always inspire me.

As cliche as it might sound, my debut novel came to me while I was asleep. In my dream there was an elegant man who wore a Venetian bird mask but who was clearly driven to something nefarious...thus was the birth of my Thomas Carpenter.

Write something everyday, don't compare yourself to what other authors are doing, read and read some more. Don't only read books in the category you're writing in but read books that cross other genres. I find that very helpful and educational. Always have someone edit your work and having beta readers (early readers) is crucial. You want to know what works for readers and what doesn't. As Authors, we sometimes get lost in our own world and forget how a reader will see something.

I honestly love writing in coffee shops...especially those that play moody music in the background. I've been fortunate to find some great coffee shops where I can bunker down and focus. Even if it's for a few hours, being in a wonderful coffee shop always pulls me out of my writers block funk.
