Marilyn Chapman Doing what I really want to do without having to ask permission!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Marilyn Chapman I've only had writer's block once, fortunately. When it happened I concentrated on reading novels by my favourite authors. This calmed my mind and gave me inspiration again.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Marilyn Chapman I was at a friend's 300-year-old house in Derbyshire when the idea just came to me!

How do you get inspired to write?
Marilyn Chapman I like to have a pen and paper with me so that I can jot down ideas wherever I go. When I get home the writing begins...

Marilyn Chapman Another time-slip novel. I'm too superstitious to say any more!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Marilyn Chapman To just keep on writing and never give up! I waited years to have my debut novel published and sometimes wondered if it would ever happen. Thinking you can succeed is an important part of the process.
