I think I tried more to write in the style that I think would appeal to young adults, but that's because I enjoy YA more than full adult. I think that people try to over complicate adult literature, because they're afraid that they will seem repetitive or predictable, but YA isn't worried about appearing like that. It makes it easier to put a new spin on old twists.

I think that cosmic horror is something that young adults can relate to. The idea that they are insignificant in the grander view of the world is one that many people understand and as adults we fear it, but as teens we accept it to an extent and even laugh at it.
