A.J. Goode I went there in 1984 as well, and I remember you. It's a great school, isn't it?

A.J. Goode For the most part, people have been incredibly supportive and encouraging. I've gotten feedback from distant relatives, old school friends, and even former clients!
A.J. Goode My dream as a writer is to have an impact on people. Whether I make them laugh or make them cry, or simply give them a few hours of enjoyment, I just want my words to touch them in some small way.
A.J. Goode "Her House Divided" was inspired by my own freak accident in 2011. I wanted to explore the idea of healing on the inside and outside -- she heals from her injuries as well as from a broken heart, and she falls in love with a man who has to do some healing of his own.

It was also inspired, in part, by my family's beach house in South Haven, Michigan.

A.J. Goode I get inspired by asking "what if?" when watching the news or hearing about local events.
A.J. Goode The best thing about being a writer is that I get to do the thing I have wanted to do since I was four years old! I am living my dream. How many people can say that?
A.J. Goode I am working on "His Heart Aflame," which is book #2 in my Beach Haven series.

It's the story of firefighter Sean Jackson and a mystery woman named Maeve Renault. The book has a little bit of mystery, a touch of suspense, and a lot of steam.
A.J. Goode I have a few ways of dealing with Writer's Block. I like to go to Lake Michigan because I seem to think better when I am near the Lake. I work on some hand-quilting so my mind can wander while my hands are busy. Or I write a short story that has absolutely nothing to do with the on that is giving me trouble.
A.J. Goode The best thing I can tell aspiring writers to do is WRITE. Write a little bit every day. Even if it's awful and never sees the light of day, just keep writing.

Accept that everything you write will not be good; understand that you will write a lot of really bad things while trying to create the good things. Practice, practice, practice.
