Matthew Chase Stroud I tend to go for a long run or bike ride and pour it all our physically, then I'm usually able to get through the first few sentences. From there, after I've started I can usually pour out just as much mentally. If I'm having consecutive days or even weeks where I can't put pen to paper, then I usually reevaluate what I'm working on and go from there. I've scrapped entire projects out of lack of interest. If I've lost interest, then I can assume my reader will too.

Matthew Chase Stroud Read as much as you can. This will help you develop your grammatical style as well as encourage you to write more. For me, when it comes to "working" as a writer, I'm either reading or I am writing. It's work all the same. Also, go out and live it. Gather as much experience as you can and then start harvesting by writing.
