Hey Jenny, thanks for asking. I don't have anymore stories which star Liz and Ian, but there are four more Southland Romances in the works. The last one (Book 5) is a prequel and features the love story of Dan and Dixie Baker (Liz and Danny's parents). Books 2,3 & 4 feature other Baker children but are set during the time gap in Book 1. So in Book 2 (Danny's story), Liz is a strong secondary character. In Books 3 & 4, we don't see her quite as much but she's a tertiary character. She even makes cameo appearances in an off-shoot series called Quiet Cove Romances. Quiet Cove is the fictional Georgia coastal town where Liz lives at the end of Play With My Heart.

If I ever get stuck and am unsure where to go next in a story, cutting the yard usually helps. (For non-Southerners who might need a translation, it's the same as mowing the lawn.) I put on my music and push mow while sweat pours down my face, thinking all the while. My yard looks awesome. :) If for some reason that doesn't work, taking a drive or a little weekend trip helps. My brain gets creative on road trips.

I get inspiration for my writing from many things- music, travel, quiet reflection. Sometimes, just getting out and being around people- watching them and/or talking with them- is all it takes to spark an idea. I'm a pantster (which means I write by the seat of my pants) so I take the idea and run with it, see where the characters take me. Each story/scene is like a new adventure.

I got the idea for the opening scene in Play With My Heart from doing a construction project with my Hubba-luv. We watch way too much HGTV, and are generally working on or planning the next renovation. Now that The Lady Cave, a.k.a. my writing cave, is complete, we're working on The Man Cave.
For Liz & Ian's story, I set it up so the first time he lays eyes on her, she's happily doing demolition, the best part of any project, in my humble opinion. They are from different backgrounds so his curiosity is piqued. And her legs aren't bad either. From there, the characters told me the story.
