Isabel Bandeira Hi Kaitee!
It is a coincidence! I wish I could say it was planned--there are a few things in Bookishly that hint at Dramatically, but that wasn't one of them. Genevieve in Dramatically was a nod at a side character in Amy Plum's Revenants series, who also happens to be an immortal, just not the same kind as the one in Phoebe's "book." The camper names, on the other hand, were courtesy of a list of top baby names from their year of birth. Pretty names were very trendy that year!
Isabel Bandeira Yes, the Ever After series books follows the same core group of friends (Phoebe, Em, Grace, and Alec). I can't say who is book 3's main character yet, BUT, every book theme: Bookish, Dramatic, Practical, mirrors the main character's most dominant personality trait, sooooooo.... *blinks coyly at the camera*
Isabel Bandeira Hi Scarlett! Thank you so much for reading BEA! <3
So many writers inspire me! I was so afraid of trying to become an author after years of believing it was impossible, and meeting Amy Plum and Meg Cabot a few years ago and hearing their own publication stories really helped jump start my dream again.
When it comes to inspiring prose, my favorite writer of all time is Lucy Maud Montgomery, but some of my favorite modern YA authors include Amy Plum, Aprilynne Pike, Meg Cabot, Leah Miller, Elizabeth Wein, and many, many others.
The best thing about writing definitely has to be you, the readers. It's one thing writing something for myself, and totally another to know that the book is out there and being read and (hopefully) enjoyed. I love meeting readers at events because we're all in love with books and it's fun chatting about our favorites. And I love notes like yours :)
Isabel Bandeira Hi Louise! I'm so glad you love BEA <3 I'd love to someday write the other books. Because I needed to keep track of the plots and character personalities while writing the excerpts, they're all outlined and ready to go, but I have other projects on my plate right now that come first, especially books 2 and 3. I'm so excited to share those stories with you!
Isabel Bandeira Hi, Jen! I was shy and definitely a big reader and writer (and a sciencelete, like Alec and Grace), and I was in the band, like Phoebe. Also, my crush of 4 years tried asking me to Senior prom, but I didn't realize it until about a year later (oops) because I was a little bit socially awkward. But I never tried turning my books into advice manuals, and Phoebe is definitely much better than I ever was at owning her love of all the things she loves--she's not afraid of being different and I wish teen me had known that was okay. And sadly, Phoebe's books are all in my head. I had to make outlines, synopses, and lots of scenes for all of them so I could keep track of the plots, which means I wrote a few books while writing this one. (And fiber artists ROCK! *high-fives with a crochet hook*)
Isabel Bandeira Hi Charlotte! Book 2 in the Ever After series (cover and title to be revealed soon-ish) is currently on schedule for January, 2017. BUT, publishing is weird and dates move around all the time for logical and sometime totally illogical (well, to those of us not physically in the publishing house) reasons--Bookishly, for example, was originally October, 2015, then December, and finally January, and I've had friends whose releases were bumped up earlier (I doubt this book will be, though). I'm SO excited to share book 2 with everyone.
Isabel Bandeira Primeiro, peco desculpa para o meu Portugues mal-escrito! Eu nunca estudei formalmente--aprendi escrever e ler Portugues em casa. (my mom tried. She really did. My reading is much, MUCH better than my spelling and verb conjugations, though, because I read LOTS of YA in Portuguese! Also, stupid keyboard not letting me use accents, etc)

Estou “over the moon” (yeah, couldn’t figure out how to say that!) ver bloggers e leitoras Portugueses (e leitors!) no meu timeline e no GR.

Abracos!
-Isabel
Isabel Bandeira Hee! Crazy busy. I don't have a lot of time right now to actually write because of all the promo posts and doing things like (shh, you didn't hear this) work on stickers and other fun swag for readers. It's exciting and fun, but also nerve-wracking, and I can't wait for some quiet time to just sit and write again! I"m so lucky to have an awesome publicist at SHP and the support of my amazing agent and everyone at SHP to keep me above water! :)
