Elise Jaco Well, I honestly have no idea where the idea for my novella came from, but my novel is based on my life, just way more dramatic, with new people and new events.
Elise Jaco The rough draft of my first novel and revisions of my novella.
Elise Jaco It's easier said than done, but my best advice would be to write. That's the best thing you can do as an aspiring writer. Write, write and write more.

Don't worry about having a perfect first draft, or even a perfect story period. Write as best as you can, edit it, and settle on what YOU like best.

Make decisions for yourself.

Set a time each day for maybe an hour or less and just write. (You're always welcome to do more if you're enjoying yourself!)

Most importantly, remember to have fun!
Elise Jaco I get inspired to write by reading, which is a bit strange, because I honestly hate reading. (Seriously!) I love books, but don't like reading them. Probably because so many have been disappointments.
Elise Jaco I used to like it because it made me feel godlike, but now I like it because I know that I always have my characters to comfort me even when I'm in my worst of moods. (And I could always take out my feelings on them...)
Elise Jaco I deal with it by taking a break! I write something else or read a short book.
