The entire Olivia Chronicles series started as an obsession with the female characters in Stoker's Dracula. I was teaching that novel in my World Literature course, and I got caught up in the question of who the three weird sisters are in Dracula's castle. That grew into a short story which grew into the first novel, Blood Sisters.

I'm currently working on book 3 of the Olivia Chronicles. I originally planned for this to be the last book in the series, but the characters and story line refused to cooperate with that plan. What I can tell you is that book 3 follows the same time line as Brigitte's Cross but on different characters. So, while book 2 focuses almost entirely on Liz's experience of that time frame, book 3 focuses on other characters--some that you may have assumed were never going to be heard from again, actually.

Not particularly well. The real answer is that sometimes writer's block means I need to go do something else while my brain works through the block. By writing every day, I keep a rhythm going, and give my brain something to chew on in the background. Reading other people's books is good, too, as I can see what they do really well and sometimes that will put me back in motion.
