Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Heyward Coleman "The idea for The Next Port didn’t start in a writer’s studio; it started in the middle of the ocean via emails transmitted by my single sideband radio. During my five-year circumnavigation, I sent regular sitreps to a list we called the 'Friends of Skimmer.' Their overwhelming encouragement and constant demand for 'the next installment' eventually forced me to realize that our ship’s logs were more than just personal records—they were a narrative that people truly connected with.
