Looking at Instagram pictures and trying to make up stories based on those images. The idea of an image that takes one out of oneself has become a major theme for me. So much poetry seems centred around the self and the experience of the self in relation to politics social issues or just emotional angst. It is something I want to work against.

I find that the best way to deal with writers block is to force yourself to keep writing. All the best writers have had this problem but it is like when you hit the wall when running a marathon. The worst thing to do is stop. So my advice is to write, write about not being able to write, write about anything or everything. It is so crucial to keep to going. Even if it is hard. If you want writing to be a career, then you must push through it.
