T.A. Sullivan When I was 11, my brothers and I would consistently hear footsteps coming upstairs in the middle of the night. However, when we flicked on the hallway light, there was never anyone there.

Was it a ghost? Was it bad dreams?

We never did figure it out. They stopped after about a year, and never reoccurred.
T.A. Sullivan I've never known a time in my life when I wasn't writing something. It's part of my DNA. I'm a writer; it's who I am. As to why I decided to become an author who actually shares my scribblings with others...well, I finally decided after years of writing for myself (and some whining from friends who wanted to read my stuff) that I would share.
T.A. Sullivan The paranormal romance book was inspired by my own life as a psychopomp. I'm taking my own experiences and trying to image what impact it might have on someone just starting out in life. There's romance, a little levity, some wit, which (I hope) will turn into a fun time for the readers.
T.A. Sullivan I'm actually working on two books right now. I'm working on a restructure of the second book in my Darkwind of Danaria series (an epic fantasy series). I'm also writing the first book in a new paranormal/romance series about a young woman who "works" as a planer (someone who helps transition souls from the physical to the astral and vice versa) and all the upheavals such a "job" creates in her life and love life.
T.A. Sullivan I know it's not what new writers/authors want to hear, but the best advice is to write, write, write. And develop a "thick skin". No one wants to hear that their writing or story telling isn't good enough, but I would rather friends and family tell me that my characters or story is falling flat than hear it from a reader.

Read, write, edit, and repeat.
T.A. Sullivan I've been a writer my whole life - it's the best way I know to communicate my thoughts, ideas, concepts, and moods. But the best thing about being an author is getting to share my stories with other people.
T.A. Sullivan If I get blocked while writing, it's usually because I'm trying to push the characters into acting in a way that is contrary to who they are. If I step back and let the characters react to the situation instead of trying to tell them how I want them to react, the writing flows much more smoothly.

If I'm absolutely blocked; just can't write a thing, then I leave the story and do something else. Read a book, watch a movie, go for a walk. Everyone gets constipated once in a while, the key is to figure out how to unblock yourself.
