I really enjoyed your book, Clare. I just wanted to say that and don't have a question as such (but am aware I need to ask one!). As well as the obvious, I love how your book examines the grey area of a crime or "bad thing" and challenges our notions of the "perfect criminal". I love that Beth has a side to her that we love, despite what she has done. Are you particularly drawn towards telling these kinds of stories?

Clare Fisher Hi Elaine, many thanks for your thoughtful question (and review). I think I've always been drawn to characters who are 'outside' in some way, and Beth is 'outside' in all sorts of ways - someone who would usually be dismissed behind all sorts of labels. This certainly made her a challenging and fun character to develop, and to draw out those nuances that would make people love her despite some of her actions. Glad you enjoyed.
