Afiena Kamminga don't know; never suffered from it
Afiena Kamminga you're too busy with the excitement of taking in the world, its people, all other living things that make up our world, and the inorganic strata that carry us all, observing, learning, asking questions about everything, to ever feel for even one moment as if your life could be boring, lonesome, pointless
Afiena Kamminga write what you would like to read, work hard on your craft, be patient, never quit
Afiena Kamminga I've just (november 2020) completed my third book, 'Unamakik, The Land of Fog', now available at Friesen Press. Although a sequel to my first historical novel, 'The Sun Road,' I've written it to be enjoyed by readers who are, and those who are not familiar with 'The Sun Road.'
Afiena Kamminga all through my life, looking, listening, and traveling in this word, either in person, or through other people's eyes by listening, looking and reading what they capture and process during THEIR lives, my head has been spinning with stories, resulting from the question that's always first in my mind: 'what if'? As I grow older, there are always more stories I feel the need to explore and some of them I manage to get down in a shape for other people to read. I'll never live long enough to capture and process and write them ALL
Afiena Kamminga I was inspired to write this story by having immigrated to Canada myself, in the 20th century mind you, and learning to love the stupendous nature all around, wondering 'how would an earlier immigrant, 10th century Norsewoman from Iceland-Greenland, the protagonist in my first novel, The Sun Road, experience this new land and its indigenous people?' In my next book, Unamakik, Land of Fog (november 2020) sequel to The Sun Road, I've expanded Thora's story, so readers can follow her adventures in the newly discovered land across the Western Sea, and her efforts to fit in among the people of her indigenous lover, Elkimu.
Afiena Kamminga reading all manner of things to research the finer points of the sequel I'm writing to my 2014 novel The Sun Road/ not much time left to read anything 'just to relax'
