I either take a break and do something else that will inspire me (creating a playlist on Apple iTunes for the book, looking for images on Pinterest - you can see the results if you search for Orc Fire), or brute force my way through by committing to writing in 10 minute sections.

I love the writing itself - but even that is enhanced by the thought of people reading what I've written, enjoying it and growing as a result of something I've said. My favorite part of writing is once I've published and someone calls/writes to chat about something they enjoyed in the novel.

For me, writing is about exploring ideas and day dreaming. When I have an interesting thought (about good vs evil; life and death; God; relationships; or whatever) I write it down for myself to explore it. This often forms the basis for the themes or messages I weave into my books.

This book has been building for many years - starting with some great characters that my brother and I imagined when we traveled around Uganda together. The theme of the book is close to my heart - but I can't share the source without giving spoilers!
