J.W. Metcalf For me, it's making people happy for a short while when they read one of my books and enjoy it. Knowing that someone spent 2-4 hours reading something I wrote and enjoyed it is the best feeling in the world.
J.W. Metcalf You've heard it from everyone that writes. Read a lot and write often. Always find time to write. Don't worry about mistakes or making it perfect(that's what editing and re-writes are for). Just continue putting the words on the page until it is done.
J.W. Metcalf As of this date (1-5-2015), I am working on my next mystery novel Killer Weight Loss. It has to deal with a missing chemist that is working on a new weight loss drug that will revolutionize the weight loss industry.
J.W. Metcalf I really do not need any inspiration to write. I love writing. I try and write every day. I usually write at work during my breaks and lunch. For me it is the quietest time and I can get a lot done.
J.W. Metcalf My most recent book Gone Fishing was an interesting one. It takes place in a small hunting/fishing town. Forests, mountains, no one around for miles. That was the backdrop. I figured what great fun it would be if Tony Gavel (My Private Investigator) were to go to his hunting cabin to recuperate from injuries from his last case and have a serial killer escape transport to the Federal Penitentiary. From that starting point it's a roller coaster ride to the finish.
