I met a bar tender and he was adorable. But as I wrote the book, the story and the reasons for why the characters acted as they did changed. Sometimes what you have in your mind sounds amazing, but then you get it on paper and it doesn't work.

A suspenseful romance. I wanted to write something with a little bit of mystery, something where a crime takes place. I think I'm going to title it End Game but that is still a work in progress. Right now, I have it taking place in Santa Barbara, California and the heroine’s name is Alexis Peacock, but all of that could change. If you’ve read my books, you know I like nicknames and not the traditional kind. I feel like I can do a lot with Peacock ☺

Pretending to be someone else for a while. It's similar to reading a good book where you are so immersed in the story you feel like you are actually there. Being the one to come up with the storyline and decide what direction the characters will take, even when it breaks your heart, takes you out of reality for a bit. Until the kids come home from school and throw you right back to the real world.

If I'm having a hard time getting a scene to come together or coming up with a reason why a character should act a certain way, I blast some music (usually the week's top 40), and ride my recumbent bike. At that point, the ideas just start flowing and I have no idea why.
