Hi there! Nope, I've never actually been to Pittsburgh. I used Google Maps to make sure my landmarks were correct and then created a couple of fictional spots right next to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. I am a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, though. Thanks for your question. :-)

It actually came about when I was writing the first book of my Vacant Hearts series. I thought, wouldn't it be fun to write a story based on Alexander's struggles to write his own after the death of his wife? In it, you'll see some similarities to what happens in his life.
