Hi Julanna, Yes I've started work on my first novel. I'm planning to set it in the same universe and with many of the same characters as my "Europa Spring" short story which is set on Jupiter's moon. I'm anticipating it stretching to neighbouring Callisto as well, so there will be a new world and society to investigate. The original Europa story may well end up being the first chapter.
Chapter two also exists. Like "Europa Spring" it works as a standalone story and is currently out on submission to short fiction markets (wish it luck!)
I've now drafted what I think is a complete outline for the rest of the book. Never having outlined a novel before it's hard to know how much story I need for a c80-120,000 word book, and outlining is not my favourite thing, but as soon as I'm happy with it I'll start writing chapter three.
