I find the best thing about being a writer is the pleasure it gives me when I get reviews and positive feedback from my readers. If some of my readers have enjoyed my story, it's mission accomplished. I achieved what I set out to do.

I don’t really know why I deliberately sat down to write a steamy book. It could have been because around that time ‘Fifty Shades’ was a major topic of conversation amongst the ladies. Erotica is not a genre that I prefer to read, I tend towards crime thrillers, true stories and some horror. Whilst there are many books out there to choose from, even a thriller or horror story must have some romantic interest within the story for me, and I like a happy ending. Typical lady!
There are many clever authors out there who have created some amazing characters and the majority of my readers really liked Helen, especially the male readers who can’t wait to get a little more of her. One reader asked me if I had based Helen on someone that I know and if that was the case, could I please send that person to him.
I still can’t give an honest answer as to why I chose to write erotica but I am so glad that I did. I enjoyed every step of the journey. I was amazing at the words that came to me from nowhere, the words that made me feel naughty for writing them. Did I feel guilty about writing them? Not at all, there are plenty more raunchy stories to come from me.

The only advice I can give to any aspiring writers, is to just go ahead and do it. Do not doubt yourself. Keep writing. If you are not happy with your first few chapters, go back, edit them, see how they can be improved. The more we write, the more we improve. We learn from our mistakes, so don't give up. Practice writing just a small amount each day. Keep at it how ever disillusioned you may become with your first attempts, you can always go back and edit. Rome was not built in a day!

I am currently working on ‘Comings and Goings’ which is book 2 in the ‘Goings On’ series and follows on from ‘Going Up and Going Down’ which was released in February this year and has been doing quite well on Amazon and currently has twenty five 5* reviews.
The ‘Goings On’ books are the continuing story of my main character, Helen Pawson. Helen, an only child, has had a very privileged upbringing – the private education, the ponies, the music lessons and the holidays. First, her university life and then her marriage bring nothing but heartbreak, resulting in mental issues which Helen struggles to overcome. A rather drastic career change brings about what Helen feels is her chance to protect her self from further heartbreak. She can still have what she craves - sex, plenty of sex, but without the emotional ties. Her own sexual gratification is her priority, although she is fully aware that she needs to provide a service to her clients. She takes big risks with the wealthy and famous. Some are even abusive to her, but there is one client in particular of whom Helen is wary. She knows she must be careful.
There are other things going on in the background. Helen still shares the marital home with her estranged husband, Anthony. There is one reason she is sticking around, she wants to know what dodgy dealings Anthony has become involved with. There is plenty that she doesn’t understand and she must get to the bottom of it before she can move on.
In book 2, ‘Comings and Goings’ picks up the next stage in Helen’s story in Paris. She has been living and recovering in the city for the past year. Unsure of what her next major move should be. She doesn’t need to work for a living now, but she must do something as she knows that without something to focus on, she cannot hope to permanently shed the mental problems she has struggled to control.
I have also started work on two short stories. One is also erotica and the other one is a murder.

I find the best way to deal with writer's block is to not force it! Instead, I will read, switch the television on, read the newspapers, listen to conversations if I'm out, anything that may well give me a prompt.
Also, I sometimes open a blank word document and just start writing anything at all, a poem, an article or just a journal about my day. It proves to be a good idea. It keeps the writing flowing and while doing so, it may also serve to give prompts.
