I have never had writers block. My main challenge is just disciplining myself to sit down and write. Once I sit down the words just flow. There are many distractions that can keep you from writing but you have to focus and make time to just do it.

You get to totally express yourself. As a writer of fiction I get to use my imagination to create my own world. Also it is a wonderful feeling when you see your work in actual book form whether it sells or not.

Just keep writing. Get all of your ideas out of your head on to paper. You can fix it up later. Also study your craft, gain as much knowledge as you can. Pay attention to writers in your genre, don't copy but see how they became successful. I highly recommend subscribing to Writers Digest Magazine; I have learned so much from them and continue to learn. And lastly don't let anyone or anything discourage you. You can do it!

I get inspired by many things. Things I have seen, read, and experienced. People I know and have known. Everything is material. There are many many stories to be told.

I got the idea for "Black Rising" as result of the ongoing police shootings of black people that usually results in protest and civil suits at best but no real justice; so I thought of a what if scenario where the respond was much different and what would happen as a result of that different response.
