I'm not telling you about my WIPs, but the Stone Bay story was inspired by my own journey from Texas to Maine. The rehab of my own farmhouse and then a little geology and archaeology thrown in. I hope you enjoy it.

My current profession is the owner of A Thirsty Mind Book Design (owned under my real name). I scan/proof/format/convert print books to digital as well as print-on-demand. Doing all this work for clients, spurred me on to try my hand at writing my own stories. The first one, Stone Bay, took 2 years and 20 versions to finish.The next books are coming faster though.

A new Romantic Suspense series which also takes place in Stone Bay, Maine. High Tide Suspense. I love suspense, and these 4 books (so far) are allowing me to let out my inner evil. They're fun! Coming soon will be Book 1, Stone Cold. A super model, a tragedy, an incarcerated ex-husband, a new life in Stone Bay and a new love.

Write every day... EVERY day. Read others' works. You can't write unless you also read. Take classes, there are lots of free online classes sponsored by RWA and other organizations. Learn Microsoft Word... and learn it well. Remember all those rules for writing that you might have learned in school seem to fly out the window in this digital age. Write what you know. If you don't know it -- research!

That I can finally clear my brain of all those stories that have been stacking up for decades. Each story is like a baby -- conceived, born, raised (edited) and then sent off to live its own life in my readers heads.

I back away for a day or so. Eat some chocolate. Have a cup of coffee. Watch a disaster movie on the Syfy channel. You know, the regular remedies.
