Eileen Finn My dog passed away during an incredibly difficult period in my life where nothing was going right, and it was so hard for me as he got me through some really rough times. I didn't know how to say goodbye, nor did I want to. So, when Day of the Dead came around, I decided to build an altar for my dog, and just the thought of him coming back to say hi as well as dedicating a beautiful monument to his life, helped me really work through his death.

Moreover, this holiday is always so misconstrued as creepy and morbid or as just a "Mexican" Halloween. I wanted to educate children while simultaneously helping them work out their issues and understanding that we celebrate and honor the lives of our loved ones rather than only mourning them.
Eileen Finn I try to pull from my own life and interests as much as possible. I'll especially write something that I feel needs to be told.
Eileen Finn I am currently working on a textbook and another Day of the Dead book. Busy, busy!

Eileen Finn Creating worlds that people can escape to. Also, knowing that your writing has an impact and helps people make connections in their own life. my writing tries to have a lesson in their somewhere as well. As an educator, I can't help myself.
Eileen Finn I walk around pacing while listening to music or drop it and leave it there for 2 weeks.
Eileen Finn She wishes she had never found the spellbook as the incantation had not worked, and the demon could not be stopped. As it clenched its jaws around her neck, the cold darkness took over.
Eileen Finn If I could travel to any fictional book world, I would love to go to visit Circe on the Island of Aeaea. I would probably learn how to make some spells from her, go swimming, relax on the beach, and join in on some of her wild adventures.
Eileen Finn Honestly, I really like funny books, so anything that will make me chuckle or think would be great.
