Being creative every day.
Creating worlds, developing stories, bringing characters to life - and simply writing.
My happy-time every day is when I dive into the worlds inside my head and work on my latest novel.

I'm sure it has been said before a million times, but I only can agree with that:
Write, write, write!
Writing is 40% talent and 60% craft. The more you practice, the better you become.
Also, get advice from experienced writers, read books about the art of writing to improve yourself. And, if possible, study creative writing. It's worth it.
Finally: Never never never give up!

I'm currently working on Dark City (working title), the sequel to Shadow City.
From the very beginning, it was clear to me that the story and universe of Shadow City are too big to squeeze them into one book. So, I designed the plot to be a trilogy.
Shadow City is just the opening chapter - there's yet so much more to come!

I have to say that I’m very blessed when it comes to having new ideas. There’s never a lack of them in my head, and most of them just come out of the depths of my mind without that I try to come up with something.
I have a notebook full of ideas and know that I won’t be able to develop all of them into books in my lifetime, which sometimes makes me a bit sad.
Although I’m an avid reader, I gain more inspiration from playing video games and movies than from reading. It probably has to do with my mind working very visually and my education as a screenwriter.
But what gives me most inspiration is walking my dogs. I walk them at least an hour every day, and it makes me very happy. It is then when my thoughts drift away and come back with new ideas. It’s one of the reasons why I call my dogs my “assistants.”

It might sound funny, but Shadow City is the book I always wanted to read but couldn't find anywhere else. So, I decided to write it myself ;)
In my world building I've been inspired by Pen&Paper RPGs such as Shadow Run or Cyberpunk.
And I always wanted to set a postapocalyptic story in LA, where I lived for several months a few years ago.
It was super fun to take some locations everybody has seen in Hollywood movies a countless times, and describe them in a completely new way.
