What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Carolina Mac Before I was born two of my great uncles had a terrible argument and one of them ended up at the bottom of the cellar stairs with a broken neck. I've always thought about developing that into a story.

I read Double down (excellent) Noticed characters seemed from other books. What order are the series to be read? I know the order of each book within but not which series to avoid surprised characters appearing Thank you In advace

Carolina Mac Hi, Bill: That is a long series beginning with Lily, a prequel to the Regulators, and after the Regulators comes the Quantrall series, the Blackmore Agency series, and then the new Night Vipers.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Carolina Mac I'd move to Texas, if I could and spend time getting to know the people and places I love to write about in greater detail. It would take years to explore all locations and events I long to become familiar with.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Carolina Mac I'm deeply into Chuck Logan right now. I spend a lot of time at the used book store searching for books I haven't read. I think that's half the fun.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Carolina Mac The best thing about being a writer is having a reader talk to me about the characters in my books, referring to them as real people, and asking questions. That's what makes me happy.
