Hi Karen! Thanks for asking...yes, I have something I'm working on now...and a finished book in production. Not sure of my release dates yet...but likely spring time. If you follow my FB page--Andrea Thome Author--I'll be sure to announce there as soon as I know. I'm so glad you enjoyed my work...and grateful to Terri for recommending them :)

I don’t presume to know enough about being an author to give anyone else advice. I will say I very much enjoyed the process of self-publishing my first novel. I learned so much, and I know that it will only make me better, whether I continue to self-publish or go a more traditional route in the future. When I worked in television, I started out carrying my own camera, shooting my own footage, editing my own stuff. It made me a better broadcast journalist. I think the same principles apply to writing and publishing. Know what you’re doing, inside and out. And if you don’t know, learn. Also, finding the time to write when my children were home for the summer was a challenge, but I made it a priority, even when it meant some late nights and early mornings. Writing is my job. Second only to being a wife and mother. And it’s the best job in the world. You can take it with you wherever you go. I write on airplanes, in my car, in cafes, but mostly in my screened-in porch. So I guess my best advice is: treat writing like a job. Schedule it. Do it every day.

I've recently finished my second book in this series, Seeds of Intention. Now, I'm working on the third book, which I'm really excited about. I'm just about finished with the drafting phase, so I'm ready to sit down and start letting it flow. The characters in this book have me really anxious to dig in.

I'm very inspired by nature, music, and reading. Sometimes, It's as simple as overhearing someone say something clever in a conversation, and suddenly, I've got a new idea to mine.

1. What inspired you to write your book?
I’ve always enjoyed writing, but it was the death of my mom two years ago (she was a writer) that spurred me into action. I sat down on January 1, 2016 to start writing, and just began at the beginning. Ironically, I finished the book on what would have been my Mom’s 70th birthday in March. My writing is inspired by places I've traveled; the setting is often just as much a "character" in the book as the people are.
