I just finished We Chose To Go. I couldn't put it down. I have spent a lot of time in the UP, so was interested in this, thinking it would have some anchor in the plot. It ended up being minor. The book was a page-turner. The kind of book you stay up all night to finish. Any future oriented fiction in the works?
Charles B. Smith I'm glad that you got something out of the book. It's a rewarding thing to hear that from someone. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to garner a sufficiently large audience to even give We Chose to Go a chance in the first place, and I haven't worked on anything since.

How do you get inspired to write?
Charles B. Smith By building certain scenarios in my imagination, so I can then conceive of ways to get the story and the characters to fit into said scenarios.

What are you currently working on?
Charles B. Smith A short story about romance, and a sci-fi novel. No spoilers.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Charles B. Smith I'm in no position to be offering advice. Not yet.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Charles B. Smith If I had to credit one thing for pushing me past certain blocks, I would have to say listening to the soundtracks from the Final Fantasy video games, composed by Nobuo Uematsu. There are so many different songs for different moods, and the combination of my love for the games and my love for the music helped me maintain my focus.
