Blackstone Mountain isn't a real place, but a combination of places I've been to (mostly small towns around the US) and what I imagine would be an ideal place to live in.

Since many of my characters appear through several books, I like to put the cast together first (and write their bios/personalities) and see what works and what will make things interesting, especially the female characters. I also tend to get inspiration from people I know.

If I'm sitting down in front of my computer and I get writer's block, I try to do something else - clean around the house, go for a walk, head to the coffee shop - anything that can help clear out my block!
