Just wanted to let you know that I love this series. I am on Balmy Darlings and Death. I love it when I discover a new series and find out there are several already written. It is like one story that keeps going. Do you think Raina will dump Blue and team up with Smith?

Hi Anne, I haven't worked out how to write a review so I thought I'd tell you here how much I loved the first two Rains Sun books. I hope that's ok? I haven't bought the next two yet as being a pensioner I have to wait for my next pension to arrive but I'm really looking forward to r them! Thanks for bringing us such a funny and lovely heroine! What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Anne R. Tan I’ve always lived inside my head more than most people I know, but being a writer gives me an excuse to daydream without guilt. For some crazy reason, people seem more forgiving when I tune them out if I said their conversation inspire a plot bunny.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Anne R. Tan I usually don’t get writer’s block. When I do, it means I’m unconsciously aware that something is not working with the plot. I would work on another story for a while or read a book. Eventually the elves work their magic, and I would be able to continue my merry way with the story.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Anne R. Tan For my new paranormal mystery series I woke up with this opening line: “I wish somebody would decapitate me.” This one line is enough to inspire me to try a new genre with a very different cast of characters. Joley Chan is a private investigator specializing in the occult and paranormal and moonlights as a feng shui master. She becomes entangled with Raina Sun’s maternal family in San Francisco when she bungled a simple ceremony to align the Qi at the family crypt.

What are you currently working on?
Anne R. Tan I'm currently writing the first of a paranormal mystery series and the second book of my Raina Sun series. This is the first time I'm writing two novels at once and it’s working out great. When I get stuck on one story, I switch to the other one until my subconscious work out the kinks for the stuck story.
