IN REAL LIFE began with frustrating visits to my local bookstores, where I was looking for a contemporary young adult story which matched my two sons' deep interest in video gaming. Despite the importance of gaming in the lives of today's teens, it was hard to find writers who made this even a part of their contemporary YA books, let alone the focus. So I decided to write my own!
