Melody Moezzi Quit aspiring. Write.
Melody Moezzi I think it depends on your circumstances, but personally, it has been absolutely better for me to fight--by which I mean to speak up, be public about my condition, and thereby take a strong stand against sanism. I know that it's not for everyone. I have certain privileges--a literary career that allows for more neurodivergence, supportive family and friends, meds that work for me, access to regular therapy, access to education and healthcare in general, etc.--that have made it easier for me to speak up than it might be for others. Point being, I think it's worth taking an inventory of where you have privilege and how you can best use it. Hope this answers your question, Jeffery :)
