Leenna Naidoo Tough question! Well, first it was Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence ('cos they're funny and smart), then Mary Stewart's Gianetta and Nicholas ('cos they're smart enough to take a second chance), and then Margaret Mahy's Laura and Sorry Carlisle (the only YA couple, and witches too -- how could I not love them?), and then...well there are just so many! Recently, it's been Luke and Hope of 'Harcourt's Mountain' (so brave and pioneering and passionate), and my very own Charmaine and Rob, and Vivian and Munro (from Three Million's A Crowd in the Second Chances - A Love Anthology). Rob and Charmaine are such opposites and yet so complementary. They shouldn't really work, but they do. And Vivian and Munro as similar, yet so sweet and desperate to do the right thing that I can't help but love them. Thanks for the question. Sending all of you sweet thoughts this Valentine's month :-)
Leenna Naidoo Hi Neon. Thank you so much for your question and for your kind words! I'm so glad you've enjoyed 'Unalienable Right', found more depth to it, and enjoyed the humor.
Unfortunately, I don't have a quick answer for you regarding adding it to your shelf just yet. It's still under contract to Sci Phi Journal for the moment, so you'd best look there for now.
In the future, I would probably release it with more of my short stories, but that may not be for a while yet. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks once again for your question and comments. It's greatly appreciated and encouraging for a writer like me.
Best wishes :-D
Leenna Naidoo I draw or doodle. I try starting a new story without the intention of finishing it. It's just to get my brain into the right mode to write and create.
Leenna Naidoo I get to write. I get to explore all tons of places (real or imagined). I get to meet lots of people (real and imagined). I get to explore ideas which interest me without people that I'm wrong. There are no limits to learning and evolving.
Leenna Naidoo Just write. Anything. Everything. Something. Then check for grammar and editing issues.
Leenna Naidoo Inspiration lies everywhere, or like Leonard of Quirm, I get hit by those inspirons all the time. Luck or curse? You decide.
Leenna Naidoo About a year ago, I visited Perth, WA for the first time. My brother took us to Gingin to the Gravity Centre. There I watched a short movie on Wolfe Creek Crater, it's Aboriginal lore and the scientific lore. That sparked the idea, stewing for over 10 months, for The Incident At Wolfe Creek which I began working on during NanoWriMo 2014.
