I have an incredible amount of books to get through. I hope to read Assaph Mehr's Murder in Absentia. Kishan Paul's The Widow's Keeper, and Angelique Anderson's, Redemption of the Changed.

This is a great question. Thank you for asking.
There could be so many things. Like most kids, I tinkered around with Ouija boards and the occult. The incident that sticks out most in my memory is our back door slamming shut when I was a teenager. I had given my Mom a plate that said "Count your blessings, not your troubles." My friend shivered and said, "There's a ghost in the house." The plate was wedged behind something to hold it up, but somehow it dislodged itself, and flew at my head. It missed me by inches. My friend left. I could easily incorporate that into the plot of a story.

Daemon and Jaenelle from Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series. They really have to struggle to be together, but love and hope withstands the test of time, and heals them.

I'm sorry for the late response, I don't know how I missed this.
My family and friends keep me motivate. Having Pretentious on a time schedule helps a lot too. But nothing is a better motivator than someone loving your work.

I plan my stories as soon as I get the idea for them, so when I reach a roadblock it's usually that I need to know more about a topic I'm writing about. In the Carriage, It took me weeks to feel confident enough to add Charles Dickens to the story.

Bringing characters to life. When people love my characters, it's one of my greatest compliments.

People always debate whether writers should learn the craft or just write. My advice is to learn all you can, and then make an educated decision about how to proceed. There are so many places online with resources for writers to learn craft, and even universities that teach creative writing for free.

I have a number of projects coming soon, but my most current is a story about a girl named Alexis, who treats her younger sister, Brooke, terribly. When Brooke gets tired of it, she visits a witch who gives her a potion that sends Alexis to the Victorian Era. Frustrated, frightened and unable to find her way back, Alexis meets Ezra, a man recently murdered by his younger brother, but brought back to life as a supernatural creature.

Pictures, thoughts, prompts ... My mind is always thinking of new stories. I use fantasy artwork most often though.

I was doing research for another project and learned about the grieving process and death rituals in the Victorian Era. One of the things they did was to cover a mirror so the recently departed wouldn't get confused and become trapped in it.
