My co-author, Rosemary Carr, is very interested in the time era mentioned in the book. She knows a lot about the early 1900's and she actually owns some of the antique phonographs mentioned in the story.
I am interested in the past also , but I veer more toward the Dark Ages or Early Middle Ages. I have yet to write a book set in those time periods, but I may yet do so.

What I like best about being an author is the experience of putting into words what I see in my head. I like manipulating the plot and putting the characters into circumstances. Sometimes they surprise even me with how they handle situations, though I do try to work from an outline. I think every writer knows that characters can be stubborn sometimes and determined to veer away from the best-laid plans.

My current project is a romance set in New Orleans. On this book, I'm working with a co-author. It's working out very well so far.

As far as I know, the only way to handle writer's block is to sit down and write. You can always edit later, but at least get some words on the page. For me, anyway, that's the only solution that works.
