Nonfiction requires a lot of research, which is fun. I found that when writing a novel, I need to create a loose outline to stay on track. I also write a character sketch for each of the main characters. Things change as the story develops, but it helps to know who is who. How well do you know your characters, their dreams, ambitions, fears, quirks, etc?

Writing is creation at its best. Setting specific times to work and sticking to your schedule will help you get work done. I get up at 3 a.m. every day to work on my writing. If not writing, I work on the background stuff like marketing, websites, etc. I do need quiet time for concentration, so getting up before everyone else gives me that. Someone once told me. "If you write a page a day, at the end of the year you will have written 365 pages."

I love getting into the zone, and I'm often amazed by what comes out on paper.

Autumn asked Bill to do a paternity test when she was seventeen. She was ready to learn the truth. He agreed at first and then decided not to, in case the information got out and his reputation would be in jeopardy. Autumn was left to believe that he was indeed her father by his actions of sending for her and putting her in school in Florida. When she was arrested for an extortion attempt, she was again ready to take the test, but he refused. During her trial her attorney advised against the test, and then suddenly Cosby was ready. His attorney said he took a blood test, but it was unsupervised and it could have been anyone’s blood sample. In the end, Autumn was over the whole ordeal, she was ordered to never see Cosby again, and at that point she had her own children to worry about. That was where it was left standing.

I am working on three novels, a series called NAKED GIRL. I don't expect to be done with that any time soon though-at least not the whole set. I am also working on several books about living Off Grid. There are not enough hours in the day for the projects I have going. I won't live long enough to finish them all, but I'll give it heck!

Hi Delaine, the best place to find a list of my work is at: http://www.amazon.com/author/jewelstar or my website: http://www.JewelStarAuthor.com. What you will find on my author site is a lot of short stories which I have now grouped into one volume called: Tumbleweed: And Other Adult Bedtime stories. Also there are two essays available, Award Winning, Pure Sweat, and I Almost Killed My Husband. I have a collection I am building of essays as well. Thanks so much for asking.

I don't suffer from writer's block. I suffer from having too many ideas. The best solution to both is to sit down and write. Start anywhere, or start by editing something already written.
