Stacy Finz Nope, I only go by Stacy Finz. It's just a coincidence that we both have the same title Cowboy Up. The books had different stories, right? If they were the same could you please let me know. Thanks.
Stacy Finz Hi Shirley, I just saw this. So glad you loved Cowboy Up. I do have an ARC team. They are the Finz Fantastics and are on Facebook. If you'd like to join here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/83813...
Stacy Finz Hi Monte,
How are you? As of Feb 2, I will have had six books published by Kensington. I have written a seventh Nugget book and a novella that will launch a new series. Both are in editing and scheduled to come out later this year. And there are lots more in the works! How about you, what are you up to?
Stacy Finz Hi Uvini,
Thanks for asking. At this point, I don't have any plans to. But sometimes the series takes on a life of its own. So we shall see.
Stacy Finz I really wanted to write about a small town. I grew up in small towns and covered them as a reporter. So I had a pretty good idea about the flavor of the people who live in them. I got the backdrop for the Nugget series by visiting my aunt who lives in a cabin in the Sierra Nevada. For some reason I instantly connected with the town where she lives. Of course, I embellished and fabricated until I got my fictional town, Nugget, just the way I wanted it.
Stacy Finz My inspiration is meeting my word count for the day, because then I get to shut down my computer and do something fun -- like reading someone else's novel. I know it sounds soulless, but my whole career as a writer has been a series of deadlines. So "inspiration" is a luxury I can't afford. Having said that, I do love to people watch and listen in on their conversations. It helps me with dialogue and with drawing characters.
Stacy Finz I'm revising the third book, tentatively called, SECOND CHANCES, in my Nugget series.
Stacy Finz Write every day, even if what you put down is crap. Because eventually it won't be. And read everything you can get your hands on. Make a study of how other authors use words, paint imagery and develop characters. Read Elmore Leonard's 10 rules for writing. I break a lot of his rules, but think hard about it before I do.
Stacy Finz I like the solitariness of it. I used to be a reporter and was surrounded by people in a noisy, chaotic newsroom. I liked that too, but something about being cloistered in a quiet room is very appealing. I also like the creativity of it, making up stuff. I've always been a day dreamer. Writing is just a way to translate it to paper.
Stacy Finz I listen to really loud music for about 20 minutes and then go back to the computer. Sometimes I open a random book and read the middle of the page. For some reason this sometimes unblocks me.
