N.L.B. Horton My problem is just the opposite: once the story develops, I can't type quickly enough! I strategize through the plot, which is time consuming, and then my editors and I clean everything up.
N.L.B. Horton Bless you for asking! If you're a glowing-tablet kind of person, the major electronic retailers carry When Camels Fly and The Brother's Keepers. They also carry paperback copies (where applicable).

If you're a smell-the-paper person, the books are available throughout the Rocky Mountains at the following independent booksellers. If you have a favorite indie bookstore, let me know and I'll ask them if they would like to stock copies of my work!

Tattered Cover in Denver (all locations)
Books & Nosh in Frisco
The Bookworm in Edwards
Off the Beaten Path in Steamboat Springs
Old Firehouse Books in Ft. Collins
N.L.B. Horton I honestly love the entire process—even the edits! But the best part is when someone likes the very same thing about my stories that I like, and cites those elements in a review.
N.L.B. Horton My work in progress is the result of a trip in 2010—but I'm not releasing any information about the location to which archaeologist Grace Madison is drawn yet! Suffice it to say that my third book is a classical thriller that contains the humor, drama, love, and family relationships that readers like in When Camels Fly and The Brothers' Keepers. I am really enjoying writing this one.
N.L.B. Horton My previous answer was, "My education, travels, and interests pepper my mind with story lines and issues, and I draw inspiration from all of them." While this is still true, I'm also drawing inspiration from my readers. Their reviews and observations are enabling me to see new aspects of my characters, and while the third book continues with the Madison family and their friends, we're all branching out a little.
N.L.B. Horton Exciting news! The draft of the third book is halfway finished, and I am loving it. Developing these characters is a joy, although I'm working hard to keep archaeologist Grace Madison alive at the moment. I hope to complete this draft this month—an ambitious schedule!— so that it can move to the first editor by May. Stay tuned!
