Heidi McCahan Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out. If you use Story Origin, you're welcome to apply to review my upcoming release there. I have wanted to be an author since I was a little girl. Books have been my thing for as long as I remember. Thanks so much for asking. Take care!
Heidi McCahan Hi, Bev.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to answer your question in a more timely manner. This was my first Goodreads giveaway and I don't recall having the option to include international readers. I could be mistaken. I apologize for excluding those living outside the US. If I do another Goodreads giveaway with e-books in the future, I will ask the support team how to expand the options. Thank you for understanding.
Heidi McCahan I read some wonderful books this summer. Beach House Rules by Kristy Woodson Harvey, The Love Haters by Katherine Center, and Austen by Susan May Warren are three of my 2025 favorites.
Heidi McCahan Clean the house compulsively, listen to music, wander around the virtual world ... including Pinterest (all in the name of research, of course). Eventually, I have to force myself to sit down and write something, anything and try and ignore my internal critic.
Heidi McCahan The older I get, the more I realize that what I think and feel comes out on the pages of the books I write. That's both a blessing and a drawback, I suppose. On the other hand, it's super fun to put fictional people in challenging situations then try to figure out how to make sure they get their happily ever after. The best thing about being a writer, for me, is that I get to hang out in imaginary worlds of my choosing and process my thoughts and feelings at the same time.
Heidi McCahan Read a lot. In the genre you prefer to write, but also outside that genre. Write as much as you can. Don't wait for the perfect time to start and don't try to write it perfectly the first time. Both expectations are unrealistic and will only lead to despair.
Heidi McCahan I'm finishing another manuscript for my Welcome to Redemption, Alaska series. This is book 4 of 5. We've started revealing the covers and the response has been amazing! I'm super pumped for readers to dive into this new inspirational, small-town romance series.
Heidi McCahan If I don't write, I start to get really grumpy. There's something about the creative process that makes my heart sing. That doesn't mean it is easy, but if I ignore that desire to write for too long, I start to feel frustrated. Also, sitting down with a blank piece of lined paper just makes me want to spill words across it. Since I've had the opportunity to publish more books with Harlequin, I've found that deadlines keep me motivated to write (most of the time). I really do try to regard my writing as a career.
Heidi McCahan The Winter of Sweet Secrets is my next release from Harlequin Love Inspired. To be honest, I was asked to write this book. A couple of summers ago, I was on vacation at the beach when I received an email from my agent. The team at Love Inspired wanted to know if I'd be interested in writing a book set in Alaska during the winter time. Of course I said, "Yes!" After a bit of back and forth, we settled on a plot. Then I wrote the book. Re-wrote it. Then rewrote it some more. And now here we are! Can't wait for readers to get their hands on Jovi and Burke's story.
