If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Reza Ali I would travel to Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms. I will tour the Blackwater Bay and the Red Keep then head West to Highgarden and Dorne before visiting Casterly Rock and Riverrun. Then head north, past the Neck and the Twins to Winterfell. Then further North to the Wall and beyond towards Hardhome! Lastly I will return South but heading east to Volantis and Meereen! Finally we will dock at Dragonstone before returning to reality! I am a huge fan of GRM and GOT, naturally!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Reza Ali I am a huge George R Martin fan and off course I love the TV series Game of Thrones. The hidden story that underpins the whole Series is the love story of Lyanna Stark and Robert Baratheon. She dies during child birth but her son could be a prophesied prince. So basically this is the premise for Blood of your Blood, I wanted to explore this situation in a different way, actually giving the protagonist the real power and a dire situation which forces him to embrace who he is.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Reza Ali That is when the love fleeting escapes and it becomes painful to move on. I push on and try my best to progress until the inspiration returns. It's a terrible thing that!

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Reza Ali I feel ten feet taller and completely bullet proof when I write. I guess it's a personal thing and those that write for love attain complete satisfaction, incomparable to anything else.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Reza Ali Write with you heart and soul. Feel the words traverse through your soul and touch your heart. The words become magical afterwards.

What are you currently working on?
Reza Ali I completed a prequel to Blood of your Blood and I want to start the sequel soon. It really depends on how people receive the book. So far I have had nothing but praise for the story. I hope this continues and the book does really well simply because it is really a great story.

How do you get inspired to write?
Reza Ali I love writing. I was a businessman with a successful business and writing was the last thing on my mind but when my business went bust, I decided to pursue what I was most passionate about. I love writing, it is food for my soul.
