I don't generally get it because I work to an outline which I may tweak as I go, but it means I always have something I can turn to. I may skip a section and come back to it later on if I do get stuck, that usually sorts out any kind of block.

I've always loved reading and when I gave up my job as a teacher to look after three small children I decided after an evening of trying to find something to read that I would have a go at writing myself. I wanted to prove to myself that I could write a book. I had no idea how much I was going to love writing and from there went on to write three more to complete The Tagan Series.

I've just completed my first series, but I got the idea using a fairly systematic approach. I thought about what I liked to read; what kind of plot, themes, types of characters etc and built the idea around that. From there it grew organically.
