What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Allie Walker Besides my love of typing, I love to immerse myself in a story that I can tell in a unique way. Its an amazing feeling to have people reading your work and respond positively! I am living my dream it is much more than I could have ever imagined, and I am eternally grateful!

What are you currently working on?
Allie Walker I am working on promoting On My Way Home, and I editing my second novel, and trying to develop the third. But my main focus is On My Way Home, and editing the second.

How do you get inspired to write?
Allie Walker I was at my day job, and I was answering phones. I took a call from a very snobby girl who didn't sound very bright. I had a moment of clarity and said to myself, "My dream is not to be a receptionist, What am I doing?!" So I went home that night, and I thought about going back to school, applied for more radio jobs, but then my mind was on writing. It had always been there. I had always been decent at it, but it was for me not for the world. The next morning I woke up after I had a dream about those characters I had created a few years ago. It was so vivid, and I knew then that I was going to write something that was going to change my life. I wrote On My Way Home.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Allie Walker On My Way Home, the first three chapters, came from one of the darkest weeks of my life. I thought I was going to lose my mother, my sister was suffering and there was nothing I could do, and someone stole $500.00 from me, which was the least of my problems, but the icing on the cake for that three day time period. I went to talk to a therapist to avoid a nervous breakdown, and she asked me what I did for myself. I said that I write sometimes, but it isn't anything special. She instructed me to write down everything I was feeling. It turned into a very rough version of the first three chapters of On My Way Home.
