K.D. Fleming What a great question. I think my overall favorite couple is Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington from Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn.

I love some other couples but I think the reason Colin and Penelope are always at the top of my list is the cleverness and wit and kindness Penelope displayed throughout the story. She stayed true to her heart when she lost it to Colin years before he saw her as anything beyond his sister's best friend.

Whenever I need a feel-good escape, I re-read that book.

Who is your favorite couple?
K.D. Fleming The one I'm working on involving Gina and Toby came from her role as Katherine's sassy assistant in Campaigning for Love. Gina is fun and sassy and almost fearless. She's very managing, but in a good way. But where she values the people in her life for the friendship and love they offer one another, Toby measures people by their usefulness to him in getting ahead in his career. Gina scares him with her openness and giving heart.

K.D. Fleming I am writing Gina and Toby's story for book 3 of my Pemberly series. Campaigning for Love releases September 2014 and Capturing the Minister's Heart will be out in February 2015.
K.D. Fleming Write-- a lot. Study the craft of writing, whether it be via workshops, "how to" books, or joining a writer's group. But learn all the skills necessary to write a great story.

And then, be willing to listen when someone offers you advice or makes a suggestion. I'm not saying you have to agree with it or even use it, but at least give it consideration.

But most of all, love what you're writing. Because if you don't, who will. It all starts with you.
K.D. Fleming Getting published, signing with an agent, entering a contest, or winning a contest--all of those things are results of the beginning of an idea. Just the germ of a seed that grows in your mind into a full-blown story.
The very best thing about being a writer is seeing the spark of an idea you had for a story blossom into something so much more than you ever imagined when it came to you.
K.D. Fleming Uhh, with lots of nail biting. No, when I'm truly stuck and my mind has gone blank, I will play a Casting Crowns CD that has a song on it that reflects the spiritual growth of one of my characters. There will be a phrase or something in the song that makes whatever I couldn't figure out, suddenly become clear.
