If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Whitney Dineen I'm pretty sure I'd have to go to Hogwarts and then Yorkshire (Wuthering Heights.) Get the full British experience. :)

As a middle Illinois girl, I just completed Relatively Normal, and was sure the town you spoke of, Gelson, was my hometown. Did you have a small town in mind when you wrote this book? I thought the book was fun and a good, quick read! Thank you!
Whitney Dineen Hi Millie, I lived in Gibson City, Illinois form 2-9th grades. It was very much on my mind when I wrote of Gelsons. xo

Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?
Whitney Dineen The restaurant ran out of French fries right before I ordered. Then they ran out of grilled cheese.

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Whitney Dineen Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. I'm sure I could come up with at least 19 more but they were the first couple to come to mind. They were in constant motion from one hilarious conflict to another and if that it what marriage is about I don't know what is.

Just completed The Reinvention of Mimi Finnegan, and absolutely loved it!! Was this a one time book, or are there more books possibly on the horizon? One other thing I want to advise. In the book when Richard says he is going to whisper the Declaration of Independence and starts with We The People....that is actually the Preamble to the Constitution...but I loved that whole scene. ;)
Whitney Dineen Ah, Antonette, SO you glad you loved Mimi! This book is part of a trilogy. Book 2 is Richard's story, even though Mimi will be around. Book 3 is Mimi in motherhood. Thanks for the heads up on the Preamble. You would think after all those years of School House Rock I would have gotten it right! xoxo

Is any part of She Sins at Midnight a transplant of events in Your Life as opposed to imagination/invention?
Whitney Dineen Not my life directly, but there were parts that were influenced by stories that I heard aplenty. xo

How did you come up with the idea for She SIns at Midnight?
Whitney Dineen I was irritated with an agent of mine who let a big television opportunity pass me by. I was motivated by anger and wanted to portray a stereotypical sleazy agent (which mine wasn't, I was just mad) so I started to write She Sins one way but almost immediately the story took on a mind of its own and went in another direction. I'm glad it did. I like it much better like this. xo

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Whitney Dineen I read books that inspire me! I garden, play with my girls and clean out a closet or six. In other words, I just get on with life. Inspiration always comes back to roost.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Whitney Dineen I love writing because inevitably my characters become my friends. It's the ultimate "choose your friends" scenario. Not only to you get to pick your friends, you get to create them! Win-win, for sure.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Whitney Dineen Never, ever, ever edit yourself! You can't go wrong when you write what you feel.

What are you currently working on?
Whitney Dineen I'm currently work on my middle reader series. The first book, Wilhelmina and the Willamette Wig Factory will be release in September, 2015. There are 6 complete books in the series.

How do you get inspired to write?
Whitney Dineen Inspiration is an odd, odd thing. When it hits, you go for it. That could be at 3 a.m., while you're in the bathtub or hiking a mountain. If you get inspired, you just have to change gears and write!
